HAPPY BIRTHDAY, VIC

After he was goofy for a few shots, I finally got a decent picture.   He said he was acting like the grands when it's photo time.   We had a fun time watching the Twins get beat 13-4.    It was a very hot day so we had to find some cooler seats.   One of the highlights of the time was meeting up with Den and Karen.    They met us at the game so we had a great catch up time together.
I love taking pictures of food.  This is my plate of Sushi at the Crave Restaurant we went to after the game.   I think Vic had a nice birthday with many texts, emails and cards.   Thank you to all for making it a special 70th for him.

Iselle left town and took Julio with her

The storms didn't amount to anything.    We did some preparing though, like move all the plants that were small enough and pulled the table and chairs close to the house.
Yesterday we drove to another part of the island (Hawaii Kai) and could see some leftover clouds and heaviness along the mountain range.
Hawaii Kai is one of my favorite parts of the island.    This is where I would live if my ship would only come in.
This young girl was showing the kids a little chicken she had for a pet.

Kailua Farmer's Market is always a fun place to go.
We were able to stop there today and pick up a few favorites.

There was music.....
By this man - the little guy was adding his talent too on the drum.
There is a craft table M&E enjoy.   They are sharing a Kale Smoothie while they do a project.

Trees, trees and more trees

The trees are so beautiful here in the summer.    This one is near R&C's house - one of the most beautiful on the islands, in my opinion.    Some are huge and loaded with flowers.
Mack and I spotted this palm the other day when we were walking.  We called it a Pencil Palm.  I doubt if it is any bigger than 8 inches around and stands way about this 2 story apartment building.

This is definitely the weirdest tree - will have to do some research to figure out the name of it.  I think the orange blooms are strange.
Now this one is rather strange too.....have no idea what it is called either but it is very full of lush green growth.

Sounds like Iselle and Julio will be visiting this weekend starting on Friday morning on Oahu.   There's a lot of hype!!!    People are buying bottles of water, Spam and Ramen noodles.   Hmmm

Getting back on schedule

Dragon Fruit - Interesting taste.   We think it almost has a vegetable taste but looks like it could be from the Kiwi Family.
Just another one of the many get-ups this little one comes up with in a day.
The lime tree is producting again.
Mack is sharing his lego book with CJ - the next door neighbor.   It's fun to see how much they all love books.

A Great Trip To Honolulu

Our trip could not have gone any better.   These two little rascals did very well.   Neither of them slept at all on the flights and were patient while we waited.    The one at LAX was especially long.
Crayons and pencils were always in use.  I'd say that's their favorite thing to do.

Carrie and I actually found something decent for lunch which we shared with the kids.
Carrie had a movie they were able to watch on the longest flight.
Finally, we are in the car heading to Hickam - this little girl just couldn't stay awake another minute.
Not sure you can tell how long the line is, but it went on and on - this is the line of cars to get on base.
Mack was trying so hard to not fall asleep while we waiting to get through the gate.
Daddy carried them into the house and when I got in the door I couldn't resist this picture.  They had baths and were in bed by 7:00.   I didn't hear a peep out of them.    Mack slept about 13 hours - E was up a little earlier but all in all they had a good night.

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
