Easter Celebration on Oahu

We were up early this am to attend a Sunrise Service..
on the USS Missouri, a 15 minute drive from the kid's home.

There were not many people there when we arrived so this is what we could see before the place filled up.
After the service we walked around the ship.   We got a great view of the Arizona Memorial...
and Vic was able to locate the Iowa flag however, could not find the North Dakota.
When we returned home the children had their egg hunt.
It was very special to spend this Day with our Family with brunch on the lanai.  We couldn't seem to get a good picture of these four so I picked the best - I really should have put all of them on for some good laughs.
Our fun is coming to an end as Wednesday evening we start our long plane ride home.

While at the park today.....

Mack said, "oh, look"
so, of course, Ellie came running to check out what Mack was looking at.

To the other side of the play area a man was mowing.  He sure had a lot of fans around him as he mowed.
Interesting attire!
Tutu isn't fond of this trick she insists on doing.

E is trying to give her Tutu a heart attach by some of her moves on the neighborhood play area.

This little sweetie is a neighbor and new friend for E.  Her name is Kennedy and her siblings names are Lincoln, Madison and Reagan.   Hmmmm

I have heard of snow angels, but in Hawai'i they are sand angels.

It was a great surfing day on the North Shore.

After surfing the boys break open coconuts for the good water and delicious meat inside.
We were so surprised to see the whales as we made a stop at a favorite photo place.

Some fun from the past few days

We spent a couple days at Waikiki.
The flowers every where are so awesome.  This pot is huge - you can't get an feel for the size of it from this picture.
You've never had coconut cake until you have eaten this one from "The House Without a Key"
Sunset
Ellie enjoying the smells as we walked through the Koko Head Crater.
Mack climbing a huge tree at a park where we had a picnic.
I wanted to check to see if this place was for sale.
You can guess it had an awesome view.

Playing

Batman working under his big wheel to make a repair.   There was some long story about this but I can't possibly repeat what he told me.
Ellie comes out with the cutest dress up outfits.    She also has a very distinctive fashion sense when it comes to what she wears everyday.  She points to what she is going to put on and surprisingly it is a good match.

Favorite Things In Hawaii

Today we walked through Foster's Botanical Gardens.

You can tell how big this tree is when
you see Mack playing under it.
Every where you look in Hawaii there is
something beautiful to look at.

A Beautiful Setting

Malasadas - not available in
North Dakota (that I know of)
Ellie is more fond of the sand
than the water.
Mack enjoying his treat.
We set up camp and enjoyed the view.
Notice the Yoga class in the background.
All beaches in the state are public
even though this is a Marriott Resort.
I know for sure some of my friends
have stayed at this resort.

Beach Day

Mack decided he wanted to teach Ellie
 how to play Leap Frog.
Now it is E's turn to try but as you can see
she didn't quite make it.
The next try for Mack he landed on her head
and her face went straight down in the sand.
The unfortunate thing was she opened her mouth
just as her face went into the sand.
She was a good sport!

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
