2019 All Buttoned Up!

Fall is definitely upon us.    Lots of very pretty trees  -maybe more this year because of all the rain we had this summer.   This picture was taken along the Fish Hook River in Park Rapids.   We can only hope that rain amount doesn't translate into snow in the coming months!!!
At the Park Rapids Farmer's Market I found a gal who was a very interesting gardener.   I loved visiting with her about all the unusual vegetables she was bringing to the market.    This lettuce is called Pomegranate Lettuce.     Just a beautiful color of deep red.    She said all winter she reads and studies new and different things she can grow the following summer.   She talks of having micro greens next year - a definite new trend in organic gardening.
The carport is down, the herbs are all cut back, awning is put away, kayak is wrapped and in a good place, and chairs are wrapped for the cold winter coming.    So, thankful our deck got a nice stain and hopefully will hold up after piles of snow on it.   Let it snow!!!  ugh    Odd thing is we had to use the AC on our last night because it was so hot.  (If you have good eyes you can see Vic on this picture)

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
