The last couple of days

Carrie was reading Mack "Z is for Zamboni" while we were watching the hockey game. What a great book.

Tutu was making lunch and needed the blender......Mack knew where it was. He marched to the pantry and pointed to it.

Wonders of technology......

While Mack is eating breakfast he watches his Daddy reading a book to him. The means of communication is amazing. The veterans from the past couldn't even imagine such a thing.

He likes pickles!!!

We went shopping for two important things....

Bathroom tissue was on the list. Mack had so much fun playing with it in the package, up and down off of it, pushing it around the room, bouncing up and down, using it like a horse and on and on.

Since the grass is so saturated with moisture we found a cute pair of boots for him. He loved them and marched around the house with them on.

Finally in Little Rock

We had a great trip, going to Santa Fe, Tucson, Dallas and on to Little Rock. 3200 miles and many of those miles are non-scenic miles. It is still fun to see these part of our country and I enjoyed every mile. We saw family and friends a long the way but didn't get pictures of most of them...not sure why, but the photographer wasn't feeling up to par so maybe that explained some of it.

Mom and I were going through some old pictures and she saw one of herself when she was a teenager....wish you could see the picture better. Doesn't she look great!! This is an exciting week for her as she is expecting visitors from around the world. Granddaughter Natalia and g'granddaughter, Mia are coming from Italy, Granddaughter Kairos and g'grandson Emil from Michigan, Grandson Ezra, wife Kristi are coming with g'grandsons Elijah and Cooper from Washington State. It will be a fun time for her.

Trip to Ghost Ranch

What a beautiful day to take a trip north out of the city to Ghost Ranch. The scenery was spectacular.
These are my favorite kinds of pictures.

This is at the entrance to the ranch. Georgia O'Keefe had a home on this ranch as well as a couple more homes in the area. www.ghostranch.org

With two photographers in the car there were a lot of stops. I told Vic and Pat I wasn't going with them if they planned a cross country road trip!! Seriously, it was great fun. In typical Pat fashion, she has planned lots of neat things to do and makes a visit to her house a wonderful memory.

A Wonderful Snowy Day in Santa Fe

This morning we started out for a late breakfast at Chocolate Maven. www.chocolatemaven.com

This is what Pat's breakfast looked like. It is an awesome bakery where they have a large window you can watch them working on the other side to make these wonderful items.

It was snowing when we came out of breakfast so we walked around the plaza. Don't know if you can see this but they use a turquoise colored salt.

It was so beautiful. It actually snowed a few inches but the temperatures where mild so we enjoyed our time outside.
As you can see the number of Native Americans selling in the plaza is not overcrowded.

This was my favorite shop. I so wanted to buy something here, but you wouldn't believe the prices. The artist's name is Emila Castillo, from Taxco, Mexico

The Rockies

Sunday morning we had such a great time with our friends at Salem in Fargo. Some friends came from our past and that was very special to us. We hit the road early afternoon after begging a little lunch from the kitchen staff at church. Stayed overnight in Omaha at a beautiful brand new hotel. It was connected to a convention center so we were able to have a nice walk inside this beautiful facility. We hit the road, leaving Omaha in some snow showers that weren't much to deal with but made our car dirtier than I have ever seen it. It's a long ways through some "nothing" land as we came through western Kansas and into Colorado. We loved it when we got our first glimpse of the Rockies. Will head out tomorrow to Pat's in Santa Fe tomorrow. Sure looking forward to that part of our trip since we haven't been there in years. We'll have pictures to share once we get to SF.

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
