2 Very Busy Days

These were our last days to get the condo cleaned and everything out. Marilyn was washing dishes and noticed water dripping on her feet - trouble! Yep, the pipe under the sink was rusted and a plumber was soon scheduled to fix it.
We will miss the pretty grounds at this place.

Rob was on a trip to New Zealand. Here he is presenting Mack with a new hat he brought back for him. It is so cute on him.

We are now able to have a few days of fun with Rob, Carrie and Mack. For a couple of days we are staying downtown Honolulu.

We walked through the old Royal Hawaiian Hotel. They are renovating it but still have a ways to go before it is finished. It is such a neat landmark in Honolulu

A view of Diamond Head through the lanai at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel. The fresh flowers in the foyer are always so beautiful. We also took a walk on the beach at sunset - Vic will post some pictures on his blog when he gets a chance.

Saturday at Wakiki

Saturday we drove to Waikiki to meet up with Vic's cousin Bev and her husband Brian. They are from Calgary and have been vacationing in Hawaii. It was a neat treat to have them here at the same time we were. Bev and Marilyn were best friends in Steamboat Rock High School. If you have been to Oahu you no doubt have driven on the Pali Highway - Vic had to snap one more picture of this beautiful scene.
People were starting to gather on the beach - it was a warm sunny day.
Hope they used their sunscreen!!!

Bev & Brian
Bev became a grandma on July 6th (her birthday) but her little Samuel lives in Philadelphia - a long way from Calgary.

Beauty in January

This afternoon we took a drive through a botanical park. We didn't expect to see too many flowers but were surprised to find a few here and there. Most plants are dormant right now but there are a few lingering for our benefit.

Yesterday at Lanikai Beach

You can't seem to go to the beach without seeing a wedding. There were lots of people there because it was a holiday. Lanikai Beach is rated as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
You might recognize the lady in the hat. As you can see she didn't come to the beach in her bikini (thank goodness)

I think Mack was enjoying his time too.
Rob was introducing him to the Pacific Ocean.
It was a bright day so hard for Mack to keep his eyes open.

Moving Day

The Slangers have packers and movers at their house today so we are watching Mack. It looks like we are having a difficult time, doesn't it? Papa is the cameraman and Mack is laughing at Tutu.

Watching Mack

Today Carrie had a lunch date with a friend so we got to watch Mack. He was eyeing the salad, but we'll have to wait for that. We love the new hat his mother bought for him...he is preparing for cooler weather.

FROM WINTER TO SUMMER

It is so hard to imagine the temperature at minus 24 degrees when it is in the 70's. We had a 100 degree difference yesterday. (Thankfully, now we hear it has warmed up some in ND) When Carrie picked us up Mack was ready for bed so he wasn't so thrilled we were here. However, today we had a great day with him. He is such a good boy and seemed to warm up to us with no screaming.

The picture of Mack is with a blick! That's what we called a lipstick kiss on Carrie's cheeks when she was a baby so Marilyn had to practice on Mack.

Grandpa and Mack time.

Oh Grandma, ppllllllleeeeeeeeseeeeeeeeee quit sqeezing me.

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
