The Grands

Ellie made quite the castle with her jumbo legos.   She said her goal  was to use every lego in the big bin of legos they have.   She had no pattern to follow and really made quite the castle.

I think this boy will be some kind of engineer or architect - he loves building with his thousands of legos.
The Valentine to these kids was DQ gift card so while Mom and Dad were away and Papa and Tutu were in charge we headed that direction.   We told the kids they could pick whatever they wanted.  They both choose a medium dip cone.   Well, Ellie couldn't begin to finish hers but Mack did.   He did tell us later he learned that was too big and wouldn't do it next time.  Life lessons!!!

The Olive Mill

Yesterday after we dropped Lee and Marsha at the airport, we drove to Queen Creek to visit an Olive Farm.    We ate lunch in the restaurant and took a tour of the place.
The food was really good but the long wait in line and another long wait to get the food wasn't so great.     Thankfully, Vic asked about how long it would take so was able to get into the right tour and we didn't feel rushed.
This was a kitchen garden where they got a lot of the greens that went into the lunch menu items.    We were told there were more gardens located in a different spot but this one sure looked awesome to me.
The store located in the same building as the restaurant was full of oils and vinegars, freshly baked breads, fresh herbs, soaps and lots of other things where you could drop a chunk of change.   I bought a $1.50 bunch of fresh rosemary.

Here's the class where we learned all about how to process oil.   The casket looking machinery is the actual press.  They told us the olives come off the trees and and are in the bottles within 24 hours.    They allowed questions - there were LOTS of questions and mostly asked my men.   I thought that was interesting.

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
