The Past Few Days

In Vic's blog he wrote about our time at Turtle Bay Resort.   It was a fun memory and a special treat in place of a birthday celebration for yours truly.
After the kids had enough swimming we took a walk to the stables not far from the resort.  The people on the trail ride were just coming in for the evening.

The ride home was only about an hour but it seemed long to these two.   So, I decided to entertain them with photo booth on the iPad.      I have never heard such giggling........

Had to get a picture of the Soccer player all ready for his last game of the season.    He even scored another goal this week!
Ellie's Grandpa and Grandma from Fargo sent the kids each a card with a little money.  The minute E opened her card she knew she wanted to buy some "slippers".    Her mom took her shopping at the BX and she came home with these.   She was so excited to show us her Frozen slippers....or, as we call them - FlipFlops.

From one day to the next....

We had a good trip and woke up to a beautiful day.    It was fun to see a submarine coming into Pearl Harbor on our walk.    You can see it in between the palm trees.
A patrol boat goes along side the sub as it heads toward port.

Spring begins tomorrow according to someone who knows......

The March equinox happens at the same moment across the world but is converted to local time. In 2015, it falls on March 20 at 6:45 P.M. EDT, 5:45 P.M. CDT, 4:45 P.M. MDT, and 3:45 P.M. PDT

This is what we woke up to this morning, but, stayed tuned.

I Declare It Spring

There is only a very small line of snow along the fence line on the picture below so I say "it's spring".    Vic had to bring me back to reality by showing me pictures of March 31, 2014 when we were blowing snow in the driveway.    We've lived here long enough to know that white stuff can surely blanket our region again - but, maybe, just maybe,  I'll be basking in the Hawaiian sunshine when (if) it happens.

Spring Ahead

No one appreciates spring more than those of us that live close to the Canadian Border.   We came back to ND for the coldest part of winter - February was freezing cold!!!     But, now we enjoy watching and feeling it break away with bright sunny days and temps getting into the 50's this week.   We have had very little snow all winter and the flood forecast is nil.    Our backyard seems to have quite a bit of snow right now.    So, on this DST day I'm documenting this for future years as we often try to remember what it was like in the past.

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
