Mack's First Real Meal

Today was the day Mack got to taste real food.
It was so much fun watching his expressions and his excitement as the spoon came to his mouth.

We decided he liked it. Maybe it was the brown sugar and raisins Carrie added to the brown rice. Just kidding!

OLD NEW TABLE

One of the projects Vic worked on was refinishing this end table that Marilyn's parents gave them when they were married in 1966.

"Men at Work"

It doesn't look like it, but Rob was busy putting the new grill together.

Vic is refinishing a maple end table that Vic and Marilyn got as a wedding present from her parents 43 years ago.

Mack's room

Carrie got some of Mack's stuff on the wall. The mobile above the changing table is so cute. It is fish with a worm hanging down the middle, a gift from Mack's Grandpa and Grandma Slanger.
The frames are a neat gift from Carrie's cousin Kim.

A Little Assembly Required

We are here to help Rob and Carrie get settled into their Little Rock home. As you can see from the background on this picture, it is still a work in progress. Mack's highchair arrived and Vic got right on that project.

Searching for Spring

We had a great time seeing 3 brothers along the way....2 of Vic's and 1 of Marilyn's. One sign of spring were robins in Iowa. Had a great meal with Lou, Pat, Suz and Luke, an overnight and omelet breakfast before we hit the road with Norm and Jan. We weren't sure we would be able to see Marilyn's brother, Stephen because it was Saturday and he usually is working outside and not at his shop. But, it was raining when we called so we invited ourselves to his new place. We loved seeing his digs. He made ua a great cup of coffee before we hit the road again. The view is outstanding!

Love this porch!

When we arrived at Rob and Carrie's Mack was already down for the night. There were threats if we woke him so we had to wait until morning.
He studied us a bit before he warmed up.

Soon the smiles were showing up.

BLIZZARD!!!

We are having quite a blizzard at the moment. So thankful we can stay inside and turn up the heat. In recent years they have begun naming the blizzards so this one is called "Coyote". Weird - I think I could have come up with a better C name than that!

A road trip is coming up - hopefully to find better weather (and Mr. Mack).

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
