Summer! At Last

One morning this past week we got up early and took the kayak out.    When we got to shore I totally forgot how we get out and pushed down too hard on the side and flipped us both in the water.  Thankfully, Vic hadn't taken his phone and his camera out of the cubby hole so we only got our Fitbits and ourselves soaked.    One person in the party started laughing and couldn't stop.   The other person in the party didn't see any humor in it all.
The Resort where we live in the summer had a cookout for all the residence - Hawaii style!    They used a huge cooker and started the meat early that morning.
These are neighbors along our row in the park.   Some people we really enjoy hanging out with ---  Liz, (Paul was in line getting food) Sandra and Doug.
We don't often eat out at the lake but one evening we got there later than usual and the cook went on strike.    Thankfully, a suggestion came that we go down the road to Clancy's Vacationaire for a bite to eat.
On Sunday mornings we head to Detroit Lakes where Vic preaches and we spend some time with the little congregation there.    Our routine has been to head back to GF so Vic can prepare for the following Sunday.    This morning I caught this snap of him sitting in the sunroom starting his prep for next Sunday.    He will take 3 weeks off after that to spend time with our Texas family arriving soon.

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
