An Outing

Friday was a very windy day in Abilene, but after some school and a few jobs were done around the house, we packed up some lunch and headed to the State Park.   Carrie wanted the kids to play and run and Vic wanted to find some flowers.   Well, we found some places to play and run but the flower part was scarce.

A few Yucca plants were blooming - that was fun to see because we sure don't see them in North Dakota.    The leaves are trying to come on the trees.    Along the roadways we saw many patches of Bluebonnets so spring is definitely here.

They love to climb.

Lizards are better than snakes, right?
Ellie was curious about horseshoes so we picked up a set as we came into the park.   She found out how heavy they were after a few tosses toward the stakes.

A Summer Evening Drive
