The Grands are Here!

They waited patiently as C had to round up the luggage.    It was fun to ride in the hotel shuttle to the airport to meet them.
The next day we went out and about in the Minneapolis area.   C visited some of her favorite places while I went to the park with the kids.    Ellie was invited to join this swing with two other kids - the mother was so sweet to them and you can tell Ellie (pink top) is having a great time giggling her head off.
There are no strangers when it comes to Mack.
He immediately made friends with two other kids at the park.
Of course, we had to go to the Headwaters of the Mississippi River.   It was C's b'day so she pretty much called the plans for the day.
After the Minneapolis time and a few days at the lake we headed to Grand Forks.   We had scooters waiting there for them so they had to try them out right away.
We went back to the lake and then went to Duluth - this city is a family favorite .   We were able to see a ship come in soon after we arrived.
This is showing the top of the ship going under the aerial bridge.
There is a nice boardwalk around the canal and after dinner last night we watched the sailboats.   The weather was so nice while we were here so we enjoyed our time.
Our time included a drive to Gooseberry Falls State Park.   These are the lower falls - the main photographer in the family got lots of pictures.
There are LOTS of steps - going down on one side of the Falls and then of course you have to come back up.   Ellie is leading the pack with Mack and C right behind her.    We enjoyed our day with a stop at a great restaurant on the way back to Duluth.
It was a wonderful experience with great food.    Now, back to the lake for a few days.

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
