Later Summer Summary

September 15 we see the tree at the bottom of the hill starting to change.    It's a sign we need to pack up and get out of there.   We will listen to the clues and do that very thing!
We've had some wonderful weather this summer and as a whole it has been one of the best ever since we bought this place in 2007.

One of the reasons we have enjoyed it so much are friends we made.   Paul and Liz live in Fargo and we share the common Free Church background with them.    They have been coming to our resort since 2009.  This picture was taken recently when we went to The Douglas Lodge at Itasca for breakfast.
This is the view I have every morning when I look out my kitchen window.    I've seen some interesting wildlife if I'm up early enough!
Vic was out with the camera one morning and snapped this shot as he walked up the hill.
We usually are up early and often go out before the boats are on the lake.   Our walk is nice this time of day and takes us along the lake and through the woods.   That's one thing we will miss.   It helps get the steps registered on the Fitbit and it's fun!
Same walk....just a few steps further along.    Our summer involved a trip to Detroit Lakes to a church where Vic preached.    That will come to an end this Sunday along with closing up the place.   We have loved going to this church and the people are dear to us.  We will hopefully see them off and on in the future.

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
