Marquardt Gathering #1

This will be the first blog to document the weekend we had in Wisconsin at my brother's farm.   All eight siblings were present along with spouses and a few of the next generation.   The purpose of our gathering was a time of reflection on our mother's life and the memories we have as a family.  Mom died in May and asked that we only have a family time and no funeral.   Her body was donated to the University of Arizona Medical School at her request.  This picture is of the 8 siblings, the number below is their birth order, and where they live presently.
Beth (8) OK, Stephen (5) AK, Miriam (7) Italy, Marilyn (1) ND, Ken (4) Italy, Ev (2) AZ, Daniel (3) WI, Carolyn (6) WA
Back L-R:  Vic, Daniel, Mok, Kali, Ken, Stephen, Bryce, Steve, Michael.  Front: Beth, Linda, Kairos, Miriam, Marilyn, Molly, Ev, Elizabeth, Carolyn.   Front: Emil.
More about each of these people in future posts.
The eight of us planting a tree in honor of both of our parents since my dad is buried in Ok City.  His body was donated to the University of Oklahoma Medical School.
Since this blog is our scrapbook I will be doing more posts of the time together.    The weekend was very special to us and as you can imagine there were tears but so many laughs with good stories mixed in of our life as a family.   All I can say, we have come a long ways since the days of arguing around the table whose turn it was to do dishes.

A Summer Evening Drive

A couple nights ago our neighbor (Sandra) came knocking on our door and asked if we'd like to go out for a ride in "The Chevy"...
